Ludovic Giuly joined FC Barcelona in 2004, building a world-class reputation in France. The attacking midfielder helped his new club to a league championship in his first two seasons and played an integral part in the club's famous Champions League final win against Arsenal in Paris. Giuly operated primarily on Barça's right-wing during his time at the Camp Nou, but the emergence of a youth product named Leo Messi restricted the Frenchman's game time and signaled his departure to AS Roma at the end of the 2006/07.
